Quiddity is a critically acclaimed UK production company, founded by BAFTA and BIFA winning producer Emily Morgan, with a bold and diverse slate of film and TV projects in development with partners all over the world. In 2024 the company expanded, thanks to support from the BBC’s Small Indie Fund, the UK Global Screen Fund and a strategic investment from leading Mexico-based production services The Lift.  

Recent productions include BBC Film-backed DREAMERS, Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor’s debut, which premiered at the 2025 Berlinale and BUTTERFLY, a co-production with Mer Film, Zentropa and Nordfilm, supported by the UK Global Screen Fund. In 2024 the company launched SWIMMING HOME, written and directed by Justin Anderson, based on the novel by Deborah Levy and starring Christopher Abbott, Mackenzie Davis, Ariane Labed and Nadine Labaki. The film had its world premiere at the 2024 International Film Festival Rotterdam and went on to screen at Tribeca, Zurich and Thessaloniki film festivals.  

Previously, Quiddity co-produced THE SETTLERS, a revisionist Western directed by Felipe Gálvez that premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2023. The debut feature won the FIPRESCI Prize, before going on to be Chile’s official submission for Best International Feature at the 2024 Academy Awards. 

Other productions include MAKE UP, a psychological thriller by Claire Oakley, developed through the iFeatures scheme and SUPERNOVA by Harry Macqueen, starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci. Quiddity’s first production, I AM NOT A WITCH by Rungano Nyoni, premiered at Cannes’ Directors' Fortnight in 2017, winning the BAFTA Film Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer. 

Meet the Team

  • Emily Morgan

    Producer

    Before launching Quiddity in 2016, Emily held a variety of roles in the film industry across development, production, post-production and distribution for companies such as Studio Canal, Soda Pictures, Partizan, The Bureau, Hot Property Films and Steel Mill Pictures. She studied for a Producing MA at the NFTS, was featured as a Screen Star of Tomorrow 2015 and a Future Leader in 2018. In 2023 Emily was President of the Kutxabank-New Directors Award Jury. She is a member of BAFTA, the European Film Academy and ACE Producers. Alongside her love of film, Emily has always had a passion for exploring cultures beyond the UK and speaks Spanish, Portuguese and French.

  • Filiz-Theres Erel

    Head of Production

    Filiz-Theres moved from Austria to the UK in 2007 and studied Film & Drama at the University of Kent. Since her move to London in 2010 she has taken the traditional route as a freelancer through the Production department and has since become a seasoned UPM/Line Producer, leveraging her expertise since 2013. Her portfolio boasts acclaimed projects like 'Persuasion' featuring Dakota Johnson as well as 'The Duke' featuring Helen Mirren and Jim Broadbent. In 2023, Filiz joined Quiddity Films as Head of Production and has since successfully overseen several of Quiddity’s projects in different stages of development, financing, production and post production including ‘The Settlers’, ‘Swimming Home’, ‘Dreamers’ and ‘Butterfly’.

  • Alex Hitch

    Head of Development

    Alex is passionate about supporting international voices and underrepresented groups to develop bold, exhilarating and unique stories. She is excited to find film and TV projects for the Quiddity slate that unveil new perspectives, challenge old ideas and cultivate connection. Most recently she worked as a Development Executive for Ray Pictures, where she built close relationships with writers and lead projects across the feature film and television slate. She has also held positions at Carnival Film and Television, Wildgaze Films and Left Bank Pictures.

  • Chiara Di Filippo

    Team Assistant

    Originally from Argentina, Chiara moved to the UK in 2019 to study Sociology at the University of Cambridge. During her time there, she worked at the Watersprite Film Festival, first as Awards Officer (2020 - 2021) and later as Head of Awards (2021 - 2022). After graduating, she joined the Royal Television Society East as Events Manager and Centre Administrator, where she produced notable events such as “Televising Violence Against Women and Girls” with Stacey Dooley, Anna Hall and Mina Smallman, and “Meet the Factual Commissioners” with Jo Clinton-Davis, Carl Callam and Daniel Pearl. In 2023, she worked as a Production Assistant for Particle6 Productions, contributing to both music videos and commercial projects. She joined Quiddity Films as Team Assistant in June 2024, and assists across administration, development, and production.
